Royal Mail have issued new stamps on the 16th June 2009.
And they are gorgeous!
I am most definitely shocked at the imagery of them, because this is not the usual Royal Mail stamp collection. These are artistic, colorful, and just… wow.

I have actually ordered several stamp books of them, as well as the postcards they produce of them.
Of course, I’m going to use them, but I might just hang on to one set (maybe get a first day cover?) because they are simply beautiful.
This guy started out as a test render.
Then I started fiddling…
Then I started to draw hair.
And fiddled with brushes and color palettes… and more brushes…
Well. He looked like he dared me to post him. So I did.
I totally love how he came out. The hair, the expression, everything.

Well, as my critique partners have found out… I like fiddling with 3D Art.
When I’m not writing, I render. My gallery is linked here now, since people keep asking.
I am a self-taught “artist”. I put this in brackets because, frankly, I don’t really think of myself as an artist. I just play around until it looks right to me. There are people who are much, MUCH, better at this than I am. I can’t draw to save my life, but give me a decent figure, and I’ll texture it, stick it into contortions people can’t hope to survive, put clothes on them that are guaranteed to make any opponent faint, or um… in some cases no clothes at all.
Here’s hoping my mom never finds the site.
Anyway, I figured I’ll give a bit of a heads up what I get up to when I don’t write.
